Compliment the style of your home

The perfect fit and finish

If you are having a beautiful solid Accoya door made for your home then you will surely want the best hardware to compliment it.

I have been involved in manufacturing windows and wooden doors for over two decades and have tried lots of different suppliers from Ironmongery direct to banum. Although you are free to choose your door hardware I will always recommend what I have tried and tested over the years.

There are hundreds of choices that can be discussed but so as not to overwhelm I have listed our preferred locks and fittings for our most popular doors.

Trusted door furniture

Please view below further details and data cards featuring some of my preferred door furniture including; handles, latter plates and locks. And use the simple quote form to send me your designs for a bespoke front door.

Traditional & modern doors

The most increasingly popular choice is the ML130 key operated with day latch function for both modern and traditional doors.

I thoroughly recommend this lock over any others I have tried.

I have this lock on my own door and the day latch function is great for just putting the bins out or just chatting to a neighbour without locking yourself out if you shut the door.

If you prefer the door to lock once shut then an auto slam option is available

Or If you prefer a lever handle to operate the door then the ML60 is the perfect lock for your door.

There is now a huge range of multipoint door handles to suit the this lock. Please view the Coastal Group website for more information.

Stable doors

A similar lock is also available for stable doors ML90.  Just like the ML60 (above) a lever handle is required for the top door and I suggest a thumb turn cylinder for the bottom door.

A drop down bolt is also required to engage the 2 doors into 1 single opener.

French doors

I can’t stress to our customers enough how important these locks are nowadays.

Not just for the great security they offer but they pull your doors into each other and keep the tight compression against the weather seals.

So often I see French doors with drafting issues as the master opening door warps away from the slave.

These locks combined with Accoya doors will help prevent that from happening.

The Klone twin handle lock is my recommended choice as its easier to open and close both doors than the Solo.

If you would prefer just 1 handle on the master then the Solo is an alternative option.

Both are superb multipoint locks.

Door Suites

A range of Suites and Finishes are now available for your New Door.

The Suites shown in the brochures show options for the types of lock and door.

I have fitted lots of other door furniture and letter plates over the years and you are very welcome to source your own and I will fit it into your new door. However, Coastals range of Stainless Steel Door Suites are certainly the best quality I have come across.  Especially the LP400 letter plate, this is the only letter plate I would recommend for it superb level of fit, finish and opening/closing mechanism to prevent flapping and drafts.

Antique Hardware

If you are looking for more traditional/Antique door hardware then you must look at the Duratique range.

A relatively new concept but becoming increasingly popular on our doors as I love the fit and finish they provide.

Rolkar bi-fold rollers

I now use the new Rolkar bottom rolling bi folding door system for bi-folding door sets.

This innovative new outward opening folding door system supports the weight of the doors along the base, removing the need for major structural building support. The result is a folding door system that can be installed into virtually any space. By using advanced roller system technology directly underneath the door, Rolkar frees up design space creating a clean, minimalist look which is barely visible when the doors are closed.

Other door types

Made from solid Accoya wood (or Solid European Oak) I design, build & install all of our handmade doors to your exact requirements in our Sussex based workshop
